Kilkee is a small vibrant town in the western coast of County Clare. Famous for the sandy beach, it attracts tourists from all over the world for the dramatic cliffs, the sport activities and excellent seafood restaurants.

It’s only 10 minutes by car from The Flying Alpaca and – why not? – less than half an hour by bike.

Sport & activities

Kilkee has a lot to offer whether you prefer land or sea activities.

The north end of the town offers an 18-hole golf course, and the east end a GAA stadium, home of the St. Senan’s local GAA team.

The west end offers a dramatic coastline: park your car at the Diamond Rocks café and enjoy a bath in the Pollock Holes or stroll on the cliff walk.

Kilkee sand beach is perfect for paddle boarding, wind surfing and diving: even Jacques Cousteau said it’s the best place in Europe for it.
